Posted by PicasaIf you are new to gardening give sunflowers a try. The seeds are easy to handle (they are quite large compared to most flower seeds), their germination success rate is very high, they grow fast, they don't require a whole lot of care, and depending on what type you plant you can even get snacks out of them! (not all sunflowers have edible seeds -at least not for humans). You don't even need to make a bed for them if you don't want to, just put them by the drive way's edge by the lawn's end...or better yet: ditch the lawn altogether and plant fruits, veggies & wildlife plants & trees! ☺ Seriously, give it a whirl...you won't regret it.
