Chayote Planting Steps

After keeping the fruits indoors for about a month, and watching them 'sprout' in the kitchen counter, I planted them in soil about 2 weeks ago. Originally, I bought three fruits at the store because at least two are needed for proper fruiting/pollination. This is what they look like now. The roots are seeking the shelter of the soil and the seedlings are very strong. This vine grows quickly so we are expecting to have fruit to eat next season.
