Ahhhh! Viola Hederacea
"Viola hederacea 'Australian Violet' This spreading perennial becomes completely covered with white flowers that have a lilac blotch in the throat. The kidney-shaped leaves form a solid mat that is perfect for walking on."
Found this beauty at a site where one can find all sorts of ground covers and lawn replacement plants...
...the only thing I did not see in their site is perennial peanut, which is a terrific ground cover for Florida gardens.
The photo and the description were taken from their site.
See? little by little we all can minimize our lawns! These plants are meant to be stepped on! Great deal if you have kids or are a kid at heart yourself. And, best of all, most require zero maintenance!
They are having a pretty good sale now too...plant trays that are regularly about $9 are going for about $5.50 - and they charge no S&H!!! They also have great descriptions of each plant's ideal environment to avoid unpleasant surprises.
