Okay, so this is not the best picture, but...oh well...was the only one I was able to take of this gorgeous Carolina Chickadee (Poecile Carolinensis)...one of the tiniest birds that has ever visited our garden (compare to the cardinal behind the feeder)...also a new visiting species to us so we are very excited about it!
These are supposed to live in our area year-round but we've never seen them in our garden before...I have actually never seen them, period. My field guide says that it is a "friendly bird that can be tamed and hand-fed," dunno about that...this one seemed pretty on edge to me...I hope to take a better pic of these soon...maybe feeding from my hand ☺
