Pretty, right?


Pretty, but in my mind, this is the black widow of the flower world. Unless you have a bed designated for these Mexican petunias or you absolutely don't mind massive underground runners that will have this flower pop up in the most undesirable of places...and suffocate the roots of plants you would otherwise like to keep, I'd say don't plant them in the ground. Keep them in a pot. Hummers and butterflies appreciate this plant & like most weeds, it is a zero maintenance plant...

In my case, I have a very densely populated garden so I cannot afford this type, but I have seen them in large masses in other people's gardens (where they get to be the star of the show) and they do look nice.
