The end of my camera

My beloved Canon PowerShot is just that--Shot.

Done.

Kaput.

I was out taking a few pictures just this morning when I heard the vehicle of this guy who lives around the corner from us turn the other corner onto our street. This fella makes me feel rather uneasy (scared is more like it) as he MUST stop and talk (stalk?) to me every single time I am outside. He gets very agitated when I call a plant by a different name than he calls it, and is overall bossy and just plain odd.

Late last night someone was insistently ringing our doorbell and knocking and talking to himself...and I am 99% sure that it was him. Of course, I did not open.

So this morning when I saw his vehicle in the distance I stopped the picture taking, turned on my heels and literally tried to sprint to our front door camera in hand (my husband, who also works from home, was not here, and that made me feel more uneasy).

I tripped. I fell. And so did the camera. This is the next saddest I have felt since I our old cat died. I know, stupid, right? But, see... the camera helps us remember the moments in the garden and how far we've come since this was a patch of chemical-laden-water-hogging grass. The camera helps us photograph insects for research--insects that a few years ago I would have likely squashed with my big ol' feet. It also has helped me literally see things in a whole new light...let alone appreciate the right light for capturing moments...

Gosh I hate how clumsy I am! So I just took a $300 fall. I guess my vermicompost condo will now have to wait until after we get a new camera. **sigh**

OR...if anyone wants to trade seeds for a new camera with an arse-kickin' zoom I am IN!

Awwwww Maaaan!!! Not the camera! I'm SO sorry. Hey, Christmas is coming... is it time for an early gift from hubby? Or FOR hubby (but you retain the right to use it)?

Thanks for the sorryness ☺

Well...that camera represented a lot of hours worked by hubby...I am going to try to see if it can somehow be fixed...

...otherwise I will have to wait until Christmas comes around, and just as sad, the camera will substitute the worm compost bin & other garden and kitchen stuff I had my eye on...I keep reminding myself that it is just a thing, but hubby worked so hard for it, you know...

...I should not be that afraid of people either...I've just had some bad experiences in the past, I am a psycho magnet.

UGH!

Off to check the web for camera repair places... if they even exist in this throw-away world of ours...

Hi Mary, thanks! I was actually kidding about the camera :-) I'd never ever take or borrow somone else's camera...hubby saw me so sad yesterday that he told me to go buy one right away & that we could afford to do it...but I just don't feel right about it...I need to think things through.

Anyhow, I won't stop posting stuff, plus I have several pics that I have not posted yet waiting in the wings...

Of course, since I broke my camera I am finding THE perfect photo opps everywhere...gaaaaaaaaah! :-0
