Hibiscus Sabdariffa

Aka, Florida Cranberry...recent harvest. They are in water because I am trying to drown the ants before I bring the stuff inside the house to make tea.

we call this sorrel down here in the islands. We make a christmas traditional drink with it. I also make a jam that tastes exactly like cranberry. It is delicious. Lovely blog.

Hi there, thanks for the visit & the comment! Do you have a good recipe for jam? My favorite way of using sorrel thus far is by making plain green tea with sorrel & a little brown rice syrup for sweetness. It is real yummy. I believe that in the islands the drink is made-among other things-with ginger, right?

See...I love to add fresh ginger to savory dishes but I cannot stand it in drinks...so, I'll stick to my tea & possibly jam...if I can get a good recipe ☺
