Optical illusion.
Funny thing what photos do for you. The horizontal lines you see are actually utility cables. I thought it was going to be a crappy shot because it was taken from a moving car, with poor lighting and through dirty windows. And I was mad about the utility cables being on the way.
The pic, instead, reminds me of a beautiful tranquil, perhaps frozen, pond in the dead of winter somewhere up North.
