Yup. It can be done. Just take a healthy looking young branch and stick it in water for a few days. Mine grew roots in less than a week. I planted it in sterile potting soil medium and voilà new tomato plant!
Once potted be sure to introduce it to the outside world slowly by first putting the pot in full shade and gradually introducing it to more sun.
