The first white black eyed Susan vine flowers have come up!!!! I love the kid's story-book quality they have. They look so pristine and innocent...but...they are not. At least not their yellow counterparts, which have overtaken my friend's garden and have established themselves as perennials in our 9b zone. We'll see how this puppy behaves here & I'll post the results as time goes by.

Really? How is your yellow vine behaving? Is it taking over the place?
It wants too. I keep trimming the bottom shoots as to help the top climb faster. It looks like it may become a challenge for me. One I hope I am up to. Now, what in the world will I do if it reseeds everywhere is another question.
Hum...sounds like something to really keep our eyes on, eh?
Generally speaking summer pruning usually generates more growth, whereas winter pruning helps with size control...so perhaps we ought to try and prune most of it in the cooler months...
I like the white! Haven't seen it before either. I had the orange one last year and it did great, I had it tied up so it grew up on my clothesline post. It died out over the winter, then when it got warm it came back but then when we had that last really cold spell, the new shoots died and I haven't seen any signs of life from it since.
Hey wait, am I the only one who has killed this thing??? lol
Aparently so. Perhaps we could call you and pay for your services as a plant killer should it become invasive in our gardens.
