Positives: tastes like a mild butter lettuce, no pests thus far, looks amazing in the salad bowl. Out of the amaranaths I have tried, this one and the variety called "green round" are my favorites. Plus, this variety gives salads such a beauty with its deep purple color.
Negatives: it tends to grow smaller leaves than the Amaranath Red Stripe (pictured below) thus more seeds are needed for the same volume of greens. But...as seen in the update below, I prefer its taste to the Red Stripe's variety...
